Zut! offers regional Mediterranean dishes prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients by Executive Chef Jim Wimborough. Among the notable offerings at Zut! are fried squash blossoms, local squid stuffed with savory chorizo, and braised white beans with roasted peppers and goat cheese, wood burning rotisserie Watson Ranch lamb, mesquite-grilled whole fish of the day, and slow-cooked tagines. For dessert, diners can enjoy seasonal fresh fruit granita, spiced apple fritters with Pernod, or crostata using house-made plum jam. Not to be missed are the restaurant's oven-fresh flatbreads, focaccia, and pizzas infused with the flavors of tomatoes, olives, lemon, and herbs. The Zut! bar celebrates locally crafted spirits, an extensive selection of aperitifs and amari, and a wine list with a focus on Italian, French, and Spanish varietals and small production California wineries. The bar area features custom cast-glass liquor shelving and a zinc-topped bar. Located in the Fourth Street shopping district in Berkeley, this stunning restaurant is the work of numerous East Bay craftsmen and artists, led by the design-build firm of Abrams/Millikan.
